SVK is back on sale.

If you didn’t get the first printing, and you like comics, I strongly suggest you go buy a copy.

That is all.

The eagerly awaited SVK by BERG, Warren Ellis and Matt Brooker is a comic that lets you read the character’s minds with the SVK Object - a black light torch.
“It’s a story about cities, technology and surveillance, mixed with human themes of the power, corruption and lies that lurk in the data-smog of our near-future.”
You can buy it now.

So much love for SVK right now.

More thoughts later, when the brain is less non-worky. For now, I point and gesticulate wildly at this thing. Seriously, go get it.

UIST’09: Bonfire: a nomadic system for hybrid laptop-tabletop interaction (by ACMUISTConference)

Never thought of mounting on the monitor like that.

And given that my display is on an ergonomic arm mount, this could be pretty flexible.

Excuse me. I need to go makerbot a pico projector mount…

BLDGBLOG: Spatial Gameplay in Full-Court 3D

Of course, there’s open disbelief that Japan can actually deliver on this
promise—it is proposing something based on technology that does not quite
exist yet, on the optimistic assumption that all technical problems will be
worked out in 12 years’ time.

But the idea of real-time, life-size
event-holograms being beamed around the world as a spatial replacement for
  TV imagery is stunning.

The journey from Shinagawa to Kansai Airport includes Shinkansen and local
trains- with the serving staff laying out the tickets to explain each leg
of the journey. There’s a wonderful, process, flow about the proceedings.

With a simple augmentation layer – these tickets could become place
markers for enriching, and later recalling the explanation process.

I often do this with index cards. The augmentation layer for explanation recall is something I’ve wanted so long, I refer to it as a pony1.

I still want a pony.

As in, something I have wished for forever, which I will never have, and the reasons for wishing for it have become obscure. ↩
