This shield allows you to connect a HP C6602 inkjet cartridge to your Arduino turning it into a 96dpi print platform. It only uses 5 pins which can be jumper selected to avoid other shields. It is designed with a Arduino Mega footprint but fully supports both the Arduino and the Arduino Mega. It is designed with all through-hole components to make assembly easy even for beginners.

This is an optical pulse-rate sensor for Arduino or your computer:

After a few months of testing a gaggle of techniques, we developed what we think is an innovative pulse sensor. Our prototype (and accompanying code) plugs right into Arduino and easily clips onto a fingertip or earlobe. It’s super small too, button-sized with holes, so it can be sewn into a garment as well. We’d like to manufacturer the actual pulse sensor, making it low-cost, open source, and accessible for students, artists, and developers.

My plan is to build a mobile print shop in the back of an old delivery truck. Within these tight quarters, I’ll create an efficient and fully functional shop, with a small table top press for printing smaller work, and a larger proof press, capable of printing larger posters.

These days, making things with paper and ink — the slow, messy, old fashioned way — is often relegated to a nostalgic niche. But recently we’ve seen some amazing projects, from art to publishing to performance, that take these old materials and use them in ways that are completely new…

My friend Edie is at the halfway mark on Kickstarter for her book project:

Imagine watching 1.46 million sunrises. Imagine being 1000 years old when Stonehenge was being built. Imagine the Great Basin Bristlecone Pines, growing in austere conditions, for close to 5000 years.

The Ancient Bristlecone Pine forest in the White Mountains of California hold some of the oldest groves of these trees, with the Methuselah tree reaching 4841 years of age.

These living treasures are the source of a dendrochronology reaching back 10,000 years. They sit on land managed by the US Forest Service, in the Inyo National Forest.

My project is to present fine art photographs of these trees and their habitat in a book, along with poetry and scientific information.
